At Grantsville Elementary School the good weather has continued to be a great help. We have taken a detailed look at the construction schedule this week, and we feel that this project is on schedule to finish on time. Here are some to the things that Hughes General Contractors are working on. Most of the curb and gutter on the school site has been installed. HGC is working hard to try to get some of the asphalt in the parking lots and the front drive approach installed this fall (weather will pay a large part if this can be done). The masonry contractor will finish all of the structural walls next week. The roofing contractor has the gym, and two classroom wings roofed. They will be going on to the last classroom wing and then to the kitchen. Windows are being installed in the north classroom wing and will continue through the school. The steel erector is installing the trusses and roof deck in the kindergarten classroom area. The framer is working on installing the steel studs in the classroom wings with the electrical contractor working right behind him installing the conduit and rough-in electrical boxes. The mechanical contractor is working in the classroom wings installing the VAV boxes, duct work, heating and cooling water lines, domestic water lines, and fire sprinkler lines.
